Prioritize Self-Love With Self-Care Today (And Every Day)

“Your love for yourself sets the standards for others.”

Hello Dear Ones,

Happy Valentine's Day! No matter your view of this day, I hope you take some time to do something special just for you.

So much of the time, especially on a day like today, it’s easy for us to get lost in showing love to the other people in our lives we cherish. And don’t get me wrong, that’s a beautiful thing!

I often find though, in my own experience and the experience I have with clients, that creating time for other people is easy. It’s hard to make time for ourselves. Our needs and wants often come last on the never-ending list of things to be accomplished.

Self-care is an expression of self-love and it’s something I personally prioritize time for every day. How we love ourselves is a demonstration of how we would like others to treat us. Taking care of ourselves is the best thing we can do to care for others because it increases our capacity to do so with integrity.

Self-love is not about arrogance or conceit, but rather a deep appreciation and acceptance of who we are; of our strengths and imperfections. Take a moment this Valentine's Day to acknowledge your accomplishments, your resilience, and the beauty that exists within you.

Consider giving yourself the precious gift of self-care. Whether it's indulging in a favorite hobby, taking a walk, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a good book, make time for activities that nourish your soul. Remember, self-care isn't selfish — it's an essential component of maintaining a healthy and balanced life.

It also doesn’t have to be super complicated or take a lot of time. KISS - keep it simple, seriously!

Wishing you a Valentine's Day filled with love, not just from others, but most importantly, from yourself.

With love and kindness,

Jessica
